Hamish brings more than 30 years experience in strategic and statutory land use planning, environmental management and bushfire planning for State and local government in the private sector.
Hamish joined the Terramatrix team in 2012 as the Manager of the Bushfire Planning and Design unit. He leads bushfire analysis and risk assessment for strategic planning projects such as precinct structure plans and planning scheme amendments, as well as statutory planning and building regulation reports for residential and commercial developments and subdivisions covered by the Bushfire Management Overlay (BMO) or in the Bushfire Prone Area.
Hamish is formally accredited by the Fire Protection Association of Australia, in association with the CFA and DELWP, to provide bushfire planning and design services. He was the first Victorian bushfire practitioner accredited to the highest level 3 standard, which provides for developing alternative bushfire solutions and measures.
He is a guest lecturer in Bushfire Planning and Design on the University of Melbourne's Bushfire Urban Planning course and has provided training for a range of clients including local government, the Planning Institute of Australia and the building designers Association of Victoria.
