Research & Post-fire Analysis
Reviewing the actual results of fire management and risk treatment programs after a major fire, provides a valuable opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of those programs.
Terramatrix has participated in the review of several major fires, including the 2003 Alpine Fires and the 2006-2007 Great Divide fires for CFA, and the Black Saturday fires of 2009 for the Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre. More recently we reviewed the 2015 Warringine Park bushfire at Hastings for Mornington Peninsula Shire Council and CFA, and the application of the State Smoke Framework at the 2015 Somerton Tip Fire for Emergency Management Victoria. We also assisted the Environment Protection Agency by debriefing their staff following a major waste facility fire.
Terramatrix has many years experience in bushfire research and our staff are competent and equipped to work on the fire ground. We can provide comprehensive fire behaviour, house survival, community experience and fire prevention program evaluation following any bushfire - large or small.
