Jon joined Terramatrix in 2007 after nearly 15 years working for the CFA in bushfire management and community safety. His final position at CFA was Executive Manager Fire Management Planning Systems, leading the Department responsible for risk-based community safety service delivery planning and performance measurement.
Jon has more than 20 years fire fighting experience and, for a number of years, was a regular guest instructor at the CFA Training College Fiskville and Australian Emergency Management Institute. He was involved in the establishment of Community Fireguard and responsible for the introduction of competency based training for Municipal Fire Prevention Officers.
He has conducted a number of major fire reviews and has appeared as a witness in the Victorian Coroner’s Court and before Parliamentary Enquiries. He is currently a sessional lecturer on the Victoria University 'Performance-based Building Codes' courses.
